Accessibility Statement
The University of Greifswald is committed to designing all its websites in accordance with § 13 of the State Disability Equality Act of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Landesbehindertengleichstellungsgesetz M-V – LBGG M-V) and the Barrier-Free Information Technology Ordinance of the State of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern (Barrierefreie Informationstechnik-Verordnung – BITVO M-V). The goal is to ensure that they can be used without restriction by people with impairments and disabilities.

Statement on Disproportionate Burden
The FloraGreif project website is complex and extensive. The project started in 2007 and ended in 2015. No financial or personnel resources are available to adapt the website and its content to modern accessibility requirements.
Furthermore, at the time these web pages were created, accessibility was not generally a focus of design processes, and there was no political mandate to implement it. This is evident from the fact that the Federal Republic of Germany did not sign the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (A/61/611v) until 2008, which then came into force in 2009. It was not until 2019 that the EU Directive 2016/2102 was transposed into German law, mandating accessibility for public sector websites.
