Description:Whitish or brownish (achlorophyllous) parasitic or saprophytic plants. Leaf as scales or completely leafless.
Tax. Comments:The family is treated as an unplaced eudicot in APGII and consist of 2 species: C. songoricum is distributed in dry areas in Middle and Central Asia while C. coccineum occure in Mediterranean region and North Africa.
